The Master Chorale of Tampa Bay

The Master Chorale of Tampa Bay

WHO WE ARE

Praised by music critics as “one of the country’s finest choirs,” “an amazing instrument,” and a “cultural treasure,” The Master Chorale of Tampa Bay is the premier choral ensemble in Tampa Bay and is a vibrant contributor to Tampa Bay's cultural offerings. As a highly select, auditioned, 150-voice volunteer chorus, with internationally distributed recordings, important commissions from contemporary choral music composers, and choral music education initiatives reaching thousands of students every year, The Master Chorale is consistently advancing the choral art-form.

Founded in 1979 by Dr. Robert Summer, The Master Chorale was designated as the Principal Chorus of The Florida Orchestra in 1986 and was appointed as Artist-in-Residence at the College of the Arts School of Music at the University of South Florida in 1999.
