  • Our History

    WUSF developed Arts Axis Florida (AAF) as a way to bring arts programming to audiences across the state. Since 2020, AAF has grown to include almost 200 organizations featuring the visual arts, theater, music, film, and poetry. We create a direct link between arts organizations and their audiences. This dynamic platform showcases exclusive content, from captivating dance performances to insightful artist interviews, engaging audiences of all interests with their local arts scene.

    Arts Axis Florida serves as a dynamic hub at the heart of Florida's arts and cultural scene, dedicated to fostering the arts, enriching culture, and nurturing community engagement. Through performances, events, podcasting, and collaborative projects, Arts Axis Florida elevates the visibility of local artists, musicians, and arts organizations by amplifying their voices and providing platforms for their work to be celebrated. We do all this through digital platforms, publications, and multimedia initiatives, AAF shares stories, highlights voices, and inspires audiences to engage with the arts in meaningful ways. 

  • How We Work

    We've created an arts initiative aimed at enhancing community access to art statewide. Our platform now offers a range of events, including audio and video podcasts, live and on-demand performances, visual arts, theater, music, film, and poetry. For many of the artists featured, this is the first time their work is being recorded and marketed to the greater arts scene.  How we work is centralized to the collaboration with local arts partners and organizations.

    We seek to partner with local artists and organizations and engage in events and projects that serve to elevate their significance within the community.

    Support our organization's mission by making financial contributions through donations or fundraising initiatives. Your financial support plays a crucial role in sustaining our programs, supporting artists, and ensuring the smooth functioning of our day-to-day activities.

    As a connector within the arts ecosystem, sponsoring AAF is an effective way to reach new and existing audiences.

  • What is Arts Axis Florida?


    Arts Axis Florida is website focused on being a source for our users to engage with the creative and cultural arts scene in the Greater Tampa Bay Region through local content, events, artists, and nonprofit organizations

  • Is Arts Axis Florida free to use?

    Yes our site is free to use. If you are a non-porofit organization you also can create a profil page on our website free of charge by clicking here.

  • Is Arts Axis Florida part of WUSF?

    Yes! Arts Axis Florida is part of WUSF. WUSF launched Arts Axis Florida in 2020, during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, as a way to help the arts community stay connected when in-person experiences weren’t possible. Since then, we’ve grown into a vibrant platform that highlights local artists, partners with nonprofits, and creates engaging content celebrating Florida’s arts and culture.

  • Do you only feature Tampa artists, or do you cover the greater Bay area?

    We currently focus on artists in the Greater Tampa Bay Region (e.g., Tampa, St. Pete, Clearwater, Sarasota, etc.) , but we also feature artists around Florida and outside of Florida on occasion. We hope in the future to expand.

  • How do you choose which artists or organizations to feature?

    For nonprofit organizations, we highlight groups that are officially recognized nonprofits  ( 501c3s with a focus on arts and culture. We feature a mix of artists we discover ourselves and those who reach out. While we don’t currently have strict criteria for local artists, we prefer to showcase creative voices that are talented, authentic, and serving the community in their special way.

  • Do you collaborate with artists for content or interviews?

    Short answer is yes!


     Our small team works on a variety of projects from interviews and podcasts to video content and promotions so what we feature often changes based on bandwith. If you’re interested in being featured, you can reach out to our Brand Manager through the Contact page.

  • How can my organization be listed or featured on Arts Axis Florida?

    If you are an official non-profit organization and in the Greater Tampa Bay Region focused on the arts and culture you can be featured on our site for free. You would just need to join by clicking here.
