WHO WE ARE

Incorporated in 1974 as a Florida 501(c)(3)non-profit corporation, the Central Florida Jazz Society was created to:


Preserve Jazz as America’s original contribution to the arts - from Dixieland and Big-band swing to soulful blues, rich ballads and hot contemporary rhythms.


Present monthly concerts from September to May, in which our membership can hear and enjoy various forms of the jazz art


Promote live jazz music and local jazz musicians in Central Florida through our quarterly publication, Blue Notes


Provide scholarships for deserving young musicians and assistance for jazz education in the community.

Brendan Lanighan Octet

Brendan Lanighan is a trombonist, composer, arranger, and educator, based in Buffalo, NY. He has been a member of the World Famous Glenn Miller Orchestra, under the direction of Nick Hilscher, and Brendan has been heard around New York City as both a leader and sideman in notable jazz venues such as Dizzy’s Club, the Kitano Hotel, Zinc Bar and others.
